PHOTO ESSAY
More than anywhere else, at a barbershop you will witness men showing one another how to be men; how to understand themselves in a world that uses coded imagery and ritual to explain to them who they are.
Artist Mark Logan and I chose the new Echo Park barbershop Manly & Sons to be the setting through which we attempted to visually explore masculinity. I hope you enjoy, and that you too reflect.
